Abstract

From the second half of the 1760s, significant political shifts started in the Khanates of the South Caucasus. This was manifested first by the considerable strengthening of Fatali Khan of Quba and his subjugation-oppression of the neighboring khanates, and then by forming various military-political coalitions against the sthrenghtened khan, in which King Erekle II of Kartli-Kakheti was more or less involved.
