Professor Givi Gamrekeli

Abstract

The present work is historiographical, and its purpose is to present (as far as possible) the life and work of the famous historian, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Givi Gamrekeli (1932-2018) in his work. We will try to determine his place in Georgian historiography. This topic has not been yet well-studied in the historical scientific literature, and the present paper is, in fact, the first attempt to do so. It will help the Georgian society to create a general idea about his achievements in historical science. This is our goal.
